The Daily Show Attempts to Sell Donald Trump’s Childhood Home

Donald Trump’s childhood home in Queens, New York, has been excellent fodder for comedy in recent years. Back in 2017, Anthony Atamanuik traveled there, in character as Trump, for his Comedy Central series The President Show, and during last night’s Daily Show, correspondents Roy Wood Jr. and Jaboukie Young-White headed there for a segment parodying Property Brothers called, wait for it, Property Brothas. The house recently went back on the market but no one’s buying it, so that’s where Property Brothas comes in. When first entering the house, the pair is surprised by how, well, normal it is. “The living room looks like a failed black sitcom from the ’90s,†Wood observes. “It’s not Trumpy. It looks Eric Trump at best,†Young-White adds. Unfortunately, the prospective buyers they invite to check the place out feel that it’s actually a little too Trumpy, what with all of the Trump photos and memorabilia everywhere. “Everything about it makes me uncomfortable. I really don’t like the idea of living in his house,†one of the guests says. Or as another couple puts it, “I just want a comfortable home … where Donald Trump hasn’t lived.†Better luck with the next house, guys.
