The Oscars continue to gradually let us know about this year’s award presenters in extended-release format, like an antidepressant medication or air leaking out of a tire. The latest round includes Stephanie Beatriz, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Garner, H.E.R., Tiffany Haddish, Tony Hawk, Bill Murray, Elliot Page, Kelly Slater, and Shaun White. Glad they could sort out whatever X Games scheduling conflict was going on here.
Halle Bailey, Sean “Diddy†Combs, Jamie Lee Curtis, Woody Harrelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Shawn Mendes, Tyler Perry, and Tracee Ellis Ross entered the chat on March 15. If Camila Cabello’s Cinderella wins the fan vote, things are about to get dramatic.
The previous batch of celebrity presenters, released on March 11, introduced Daniel Kaluuya, Mila Kunis, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Scott, Wesley Snipes, and John Travolta to the lineup. Wickedly talented.
The second round of Oscars presenters involved a little less chaos than the news that snubbed actor Lady Gaga will be presenting an award. Among the presenters announced on March 8 were Oscar winners Anthony Hopkins, Rami Malek, and Ruth E. Carter — with Hopkins finally making his way to the Oscars stage after not being present for his Best Actor win last year. Also joining the presenters will be actors Uma Thurman, John Leguizamo, Simu Liu, and Lily James.
The producers of the 94th Academy Awards announced the first round of presenters for this year’s awards in a normal way (press release) instead of a bonkers way (last year’s Steven Soderbergh teaser trailer). Kevin Costner, Zoë Kravitz, Lady Gaga, Rosie Perez, Chris Rock, and Youn Yuh-jung will be among the presenters on the Sunday, March 27, telecast. They’ll be joining an already extensive cast of celebrities in this year’s production; Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes will tag team as hosts. Producer Will Packer said in a statement, “We’re thrilled to welcome the first of a stellar lineup joining the Oscars stage to help us celebrate the power of film and honor the year’s best in filmmaking.†More presenters will be announced in the weeks leading up to the broadcast. They should stick to the Gaga theme and make all the presenters snubees.
