Prior to showing up at the 2025 Oscars, it appears that Ariana Grande went to Benjamin Moore, found a paint strip featuring four different colors of “sand” and sent that to Daniel Roseberry as her entire mood board. The Wicked actress has spent most of the film’s press tour in various pink confections — baby pink, bubblegum pink, etc. — making it kind of a surprise that her Oscars methodology was so decidedly “taupe” in tone. She’s wearing a Schiaparelli gown that was shown in the house’s 2025 haute couture collection in January. Per the Schiaparelli website, the dress was inspired by an archive Giacometti lamp. Notably, Grande also appears to be more tan than normal, rendering her skin tone even closer to her honey-blonde hair. Also unfortunately similar in tone? The red carpet step-and-repeat. Well, Pantone did say the color of the year was “mocha mousse.”
