Mary Todd Lincoln (Cole Escola’s Version) must be thrilled right now — she’s finally going to be a Broadway actress. Escola’s Oh, Mary!, in which they star as a deranged Mary Todd Lincoln hellbent on performing, is coming to Broadway after a sold-out run at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The cast of the play will transfer with the production, including Conrad Ricamora as Mary’s Husband, James Scully as Mary’s Teacher, Bianca Leigh as Mary’s Chaperone, and Tony Macht as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant. While it would seem almost too perfect for Oh, Mary! to go into the Booth Theatre, we will instead get it at the Lyceum — perhaps Abe Lincoln’s ghost just thought that would be a step too far. Directed by Sam Pinkleton, the Broadway production begins previews on June 26 (happy Pride!) and officially opens July 11. The run will be just 12 weeks long, so buy your tickets now. Mary Todd is going to be a big, big star.
