Taylor Haag is just like us: She can’t tell the difference between the white men of Minneapolis. The sole married couple of Love Is Blind season eight went through most of their experience without much tension, well, except for one of the more dramatic cliffhangers of the season, a conversation between Haag and her now husband, Daniel Hastings, on whether he previously followed her on Instagram or not. Haag playfully brushed off the moment at a Love Is Blind–reunion watch party at SXSW when asked to elaborate on the confusion. “You don’t need to [ask]!” she responded. But she clarified later, saying, “I’ve been anxious about that part of our story for an entire year because I knew how it ended. My biggest fear throughout all of this was that our love would be overshadowed by something that was so insignificant to the both of us.”
Hastings said when he went in to see Haag that day, he thought she wanted to leave the experiment. “In my mind, I was like, It’s probably not a positive thing that we’re walking into, but I assumed it was going to be ‘Hey, I’m overwhelmed. I need to go home,’” he recalled. “Not the Instagram thing.” He now sees the ordeal as a good thing. “We’re being so intentional about finding our person that we’re going to spend the rest of our life with,” he continued. “Any moment of doubt or any gut feeling that Taylor had needed to be addressed.” Though now the past is in the past and Haag is definitely not confused about Hastings. It’ll be even easier to recognize Hastings with that new tattoo.
