The 2024 Olympics may be the only sports content on your mind right now, but remember that new streaming service announced by Warner Bros. Discovery, Fox, and the Walt Disney Company? The new venture they christened Venu Sports debuts this fall, and we now know the price tag. At the time of launch, Venu will be available for $42.99 per month. Those who subscribe at “launch price†have that price guaranteed for 12 months, the streamer promises — from which we infer that the subscription price could go up or that more price tiers are planned for later on. (Ads are so hot right now.) If you need some warm-up time with Venu, it will offer a seven-day free trial to assess the starting lineup.
As we previously reported, Venu Sports will offer a slew of sports programming, including coverage of the NFL, NBA, MLB, college football, WNBA, championship golf, and U.S., International, and Grand Slam tennis. The streamer will also have access to the ESPN library, including programs like 30 for 30 and ESPN+ originals. Subscribers of Venu Sports will also have access to a number of network channels: all the ESPNs, ABC, FOX, TNT, TBS, TruTV, and — oh, yes — ESPN+, in case “all the ESPNs†wasn’t clear enough.
This makes one more streaming bundle to add to the growing number of streaming bundles from Disney alone. We wouldn’t want this to be confused with the Hulu-Disney+-ESPN+ bundle, or the Max-Disney-Hulu bundle, or the Hulu-Disney bundle, or the … Oh, God, cable’s back.
