Describing others

Wie sind sie? – What are they like?

To describe family members, you need to know the third person forms of the verbs haben (to have) and sein (to be):

  • er ist – he is
  • sie ist – she is
  • er hat – he has
  • sie hat – she has
  • sie sind – they are
  • sie haben – they have

Use these forms with , adjectival phrases, conjunctions and to create an accurate description.
