You are in a supermarket and speak to a shop assistant (cúntóir siopa). You speak first.
1. Ask where the vegetables are.

Cúntóir siopa: Tá siad díreach ansin sa choirnéal.
2. Ask how much potatoes are.
Cúntóir siopa: Ar mhaith leat mála mór nó mála beag?
3. Say that you would like a big bag.
Cúntóir siopa: Tá dhá phunt, tríocha pingin ar an mhála sin.
4. Say that you have a ten pound note. Ask if they have change.
Cúntóir siopa: Tá cinnte!
5. Thank the assistant.
1. Cá bhfuil na glasraí? – Where are the vegetables?
2. Cá mhéad atá ar phrátaí? – How much are potatoes?
3. Ba mhaith liom mála mór. – I would like a big bag.
4. Tá nóta deich bpunt agam. An bhfuil briseadh agat? – I have a ten pound note. Do you have change?
5. Go raibh maith agat! – Thank you!
