Picture of the exam paper, which is divided into two parts: Expressive Art and Design. You must answer 6 questions in total for a total of 60 marks.

The exam paper tests knowledge and understanding of:

  • art and design concepts
  • how social and cultural influences impact on the work and practice of artists and designers

Key exam information

  • There is one paper, worth 23% of the Higher Art and Design course.
  • It is made up of 60 marks in total.
  • It has two sections:
    • Expressive art studies
    • Design studies
  • You must answer six questions out of twelve in total, answering three questions from each section:
The exam paper is divided into two parts: Expressive Art and Design. For each part there is one mandatory question and another two that you must choose from a selection of six questions.
