Learn how to take part in the Boom Boom Balloon activity with help from primary school teacher, Danny Denholm.
DANNY: Hey, I'm Danny, and welcome to Let's do this, where we will get active together.
This activity is called Boom Boom Balloon.
This game will develop your concentration and your coordination.
You will need a partner, a balloon.
You can do this with a partner, so I've got Jarrell and Ella to help show you how to do this.
Step one, start off with one balloon.
Step two, player one taps the balloon in the air while player two tries to catch it before it hits the ground.
Let do this.
Great work guys.
NARRATOR: Too tough?
DANNY: Too tricky?
Player one could hit the balloon upwards, to give the catcher more time.
Player two can sit or lie down while trying to catch, so they have more time to react.
NARRATOR: Go up a notch?
DANNY: To really challenge yourself, introduce a second balloon, so that you have to catch each balloon in one hand.
The player with the balloon can hit it in different directions so the partner has to move more.
NARRATOR: Danny's challenge.
DANNY: My challenge is to try to get as many continuous catches in a row as you can.
Take a note of how many you manage and see if you can beat your high score next time.
NARRATOR: Final thoughts.
DANNY: This game really tested my coordination skills when we took up a notch.
What other ways can you improve your coordination?
NARRATOR: Let's do this!
