When you get to the end of an episode, BBC iPlayer will automatically play the next episode. We call this Autoplay. You’ll see a 15 second timer that appears when the credits roll.
If you get to the end of a series, we’ll sometimes autoplay a programme we think you’ll like based on our recommendation system.
How do I stop the next episode from autoplaying?
- Computer browser: Click on the cancel button
- Mobile/tablet app: Tap on the 'Continue Watching' button when it appears.

Can I switch autoplay off?

On the mobile/tablet app: Tap on the settings cog on the top right of the playback screen to find the autoplay toggle
On Connected TV: Go to Settings > Settings & Help > Location & Autoplay Settings > Autoplay and choose your preferred autoplay options
Why doesn't BBC iPlayer remember my autoplay settings?
That's probably because of your cookie settings. We use cookies to help us remember the settings you choose across the BBC website. Check this page to find out how cookies are used across BBC iPlayer and how to manage your cookies: What happens if I opt out of BBC iPlayer cookies?
