Stockard Channing is just one more New Yorker who’s been hit by the financial meltdown. For the last five years, she’s been the voice of AIG in the fallen insurance giant’s TV ads. “I think that little gig is over,” Channing said at the opening night of A Man for All Seasons on October 7. “I guess they didn’t have the strength to be there, and I guess they didn’t know money,” she added, tweaking the ads’ tag lines. Channing hasn’t heard yet from the company but doesn’t expect her contract to be renewed. But their check has cleared; she wasn’t paid in stock. “Thank goodness,” she said.
