Just because one of its executive producers used to work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer does not mean that Point Pleasant is at all funny. It only means that when Christina (Elisabeth Harnois) does something bad, like trying to incinerate teen-tart Paula (Cameron Richardson), a devil made her do it. The Devil, in fact. Christina, saved from drowning in an excess of water symbolism off the beach-bunny coast of New Jersey ten minutes into the first hour of this faith-based creepshow, turns out to be Satan’s daughter, although her mother was a nicer person. In Christina’s presence, adults become as horny as their kids. So hot-bodied O.C. teen angst meets bad attitude, slow reaction shots, itchy stigmata, killer bees, and apocalyptic hokum.
