Move over, Belle Fleur and Lotus NYC. There’s a new spot for tastefully simple flower arrangements: Posy Floral Design. Co-owner and designer Paula Duarte (former head designer for Michael George) teamed up with partner Stamos Arakas to open the intimate boutique (equipped with a grand piano in the back room) in November (145 E. 72nd St., nr. Lexington Ave., 2nd fl.; 212-744-7788). Posy specializes in house accounts, weddings, and other events, but street customers can have a basic arrangement made while they wait, for $75. If you really love flowers, the team will come in and decorate your house every week (from $200).

Also offering expensive subtlety is Swiss watch company Blancpain, which just opened on the Upper East Side (781 Madison Ave., nr. 66th St.; 212-396-1735). The company makes only 10,000 watches each year, and $6,000 for an ultrathin stainless-steel model counts as a bargain; the average price is closer to $20,000. The $735,000 split-side back chronograph with a perpetual calendar and minute repeater? There’s just one of those annually.

And celebrity stylist Adi opens Simadi Salon (154 E. 64th St., nr. Lexington Ave.; 917-528-4531) on January 2. Known for his fifteen-minute blowouts ($65), he claims to be available on early mornings and late nights—even holidays.
