Just in time for ski season, snowboard shop Burton arrives in Soho (106 Spring St., at Mercer St.; 212-966-8068). Besides Burton’s full line of boards and boots, there are goggles, helmets, and hoodies from R.E.D., Anon Optics, and Gravis.
Facials are the focus at former model Jacqueline Gaussen’s new apartment space (33 E. 65th St., nr. Madison Ave., Apt. 4A; 212-249-6231). Her treatments are among the most thorough in town—the Acne Facial ($100) is great for problem skin.
Suss Design NYC (281 Lafayette St., nr. Prince St.; 212-226-1848) has snuggly fringed sweater jackets, colorful wrap cardigans ($198), and men’s and kids’ knitwear. Ginkgo New York’s jewelry (344 E. 59th St., nr. First Ave.; 212-400-7823) goes from fashionable semiprecious bead necklaces (from $150) to classic engagement rings (up to $80,000). Minimalist Japanese cult store Muji is now in the midtown MoMA Design Store (44 W. 53rd St., nr. Fifth Ave.; 212-767-1050), too. And Zachary’s Smile’s second vintage-gear store (317 Lafayette St., nr. Bleecker St.; 212-965-8248) is even better than the first.
