On September 14, New York’s fried-chicken frenzy infiltrates Tribeca, where Locanda Verde’s Andrew Carmellini will launch a series of four family-style Monday-night dinners called Fried Chicken Live in the restaurant’s back room. Despite his name and pedigree, Carmellini is no Colonel-come-lately: His off-the-menu bird at Café Boulud was a huge hit. But at Locanda the deep-fried chicken is just part of the $38 prix fixe picture. There’ll also be a rotating guest-chef first course (homemade bacon from Char No. 4’s Matt Greco, Texas chili from the General Greene’s Julie Farias), fixings from corn to collards, and Karen DeMasco’s fruit pie for dessert (377 Greenwich St., at N. Moore St.; 212-925-3797).
