Harder to lose than Legos and less messy than art projects involving glitter and/or Elmer’s glue, British design duo David Goodman and Zoe Miller’s new PlayShapes set ($150 at MoMA Design Store Soho, 81 Spring St., nr. Crosby St.; 646-613-1367) invites kids to make hundreds of 3-D masterpieces using various-size wooden shapes. For those not so inclined to create teetering constructions freestyle, each set of 74 blocks comes with a cheat sheet for copying premade designs, including clowns, monkeys, geishas, genies, and a family of bespectacled shoppers.
