When the Lower East Side design and clothing shop Assembly relocated two doors down this fall, owner Greg Armas sketched a slew of renderings for the new interior, experimenting with angled mirrors and walls. The plans proved too ambitious as architectural blueprints, but they were perfectly sensible as 2-D models for tabletop terraria, polygonal glass boxes now brightening up Assembly’s sales floor (see price and location, here). Armas tapped a glass-artist friend to create these winter-friendly habitats, which house a variety of hardy succulents and cacti on beds of dirt and charcoal.
