In 2023, both the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) have failed to reach an agreement for a contract renewal by their respective deadlines, resulting in a dual strike on the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) — the first in 63 years.
