Ruffalo, Hawke Are Real Men: Mark Ruffalo and Ethan Hawke will star in Real Men Cry, the debut directing effort of Boston hood turned actor turned filmmaker Brian Goodman. Ruffalo and Hawke will play small-time criminals in South Boston; Amanda Peet will play Ruffalo’s wife. The Hollywood Reporter story basically implies the entire deal was worked out during a poker game at Donnie Wahlberg’s house. [HR]

Justice League to Become More Confusing: MTV reports that David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) will replace Shawn Levy as the director of The Flash, which, unlike Warner’s Superman and Batman franchises, will take place in the same universe as the forthcoming multi-superhero epic Justice League. So just to review, boys and girls: two Batmen (Justice League and Christian Bale), three Supermen (Justice League, Smallville, and the movie guy), but only one Flash. Got it? [MTV]

Berlanti to Raise the Green Lantern: Everwood creator Greg Berlanti will co-write and direct a feature film of the DC comic Green Lantern. Apparently if Warner Bros. has their way, we will spend the next two years watching nothing but superhero films. [HR]

Clipse Jumps to Columbia: Hip-hop duo Clipse leave their unhappy arrangement with Jive Records for a five-year deal with Columbia, which will commence with a new album featuring an all-star lineup of producers including the Neptunes, Timbaland, Danjahands, and Dame Grease. Hedges Makes Changes: Dan in Real Life helmer Peter Hedges is set to direct a feature adaptation of Jonathan Tropper’s novel Everything Changes for Columbia, about a young man at a crossroads in his life who falls in love with his friend’s widow just as he’s about to get married. Tobey Maguire produces and may star, which would spare us the inevitability of Zach Braff. [HR]

Williams Gets Mammoth Role: Michelle Williams joins Gael García Bernal in Mammoth, the first English-language film by acclaimed Swedish helmer Lukas Moodysson about a successful New York couple whose lives are shaken by the husband’s trip to the Philippines. Let’s see, Williams, García Bernal, Moodysson… we’re gonna go out on a limb and guess this movie will be depressing. [HR]

Women Behind Bars!!: Fox is developing a spinoff to its Prison Break series titled Prison Break: Cherry Hill, set in an all-female penitentiary. While other networks try to copy HBO, Fox wants to be the new Cinemax. [TV.com]
