NBC Finds a Way to Make the Golden Globes Even More Unbearable

We just were making peace with the fact that this year’s Golden Globes ceremony has been reduced to a one-hour, acceptance-speech-less news conference devoid of the usual candid shots of actors drinking, when we found out that NBC has apparently asked obnoxious Access Hollywood hosts Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell to emcee the event. Even the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the ethically creative organization behind the Globes, is objecting, since it was expressly promised that the awards announcements would be covered in serious by members of NBC’s news division and not Beavis and Butt-head. We’d never thought we’d be in a position to defend the integrity of the Golden Globes, but, come on, it’s Billy Bush — he’s like the eighth-worst member of his family!
