‘American Idol’: Mariah Carey Night Goes As Well As Could Be Expected
On last night’s American Idol, the seven remaining finalists performed selections from the Mariah Carey songbook. As all of Mariah’s songs were written specifically with her glass-shattering dozen-octave range in mind (and not, say, the limited ranges of seven passably decent amateurs), the episode contained very few high notes.
