Jerry Seinfeld Practically the Only Guest Actor on ‘30 Rock’ Not Nominated for an Emmy
When the 2007–2008 Emmy nominations were announced a few minutes ago, there was great news for pretty much everyone who turned in a guest appearance on 30 Rock last seasons; Will Arnett, Steve Buscemi, Tim Conway, and Rip Torn scored four of the five nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, and Carrie Fisher, Edie Falco, and Elaine Stritch make up half of the Guest Actress category. Was anyone’s 30 Rock cameo not recognized? Sadly, yes. Jerry Seinfeld’s masterful portrayal of himself in last year’s season premiere, “Seinfeld Vision,†was shamefully ignored. He wasn’t just there to promote Bee Movie, you guys!
Also sort of annoying is the fact that many of the excellent supporting players who appear in every episode of 30 Rock (like Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer) were passed over too. But we suppose we’ll just have to learn to be satisfied with the measly seventeen nominations the show did get.
