Master Three: DreamWorks Animation is in talks with Tina Fey, Robert Downey Jr., and Ben Stiller to voice characters in 2010’s Master Mind, about a super-villain who finds himself adrift in life after accidentally killing his superhero rival. [HR]

Heard Enters Diary: Amber Heard, who played Seth Rogen’s girlfriend in Pineapple Express, will upgrade to Johnny Depp’s love interest in Rum Diary, the adaptation of the Hunter S. Thompson novel about a drunkard American journalist in San Juan; Heard will play Chenault, who falls into a love triangle with her boyfriend and Depp’s character. According to the report, both Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley were interested in the role but were scared off by the nudity required — not a problem for Heard, who is apparently naked in almost all of her recent flick, The Informers. O’Donnell, Cool J Finally Unite: Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J are in negotiations for an NCIS spinoff, which will first air as an episode of the parent show in the spring; O’Donnell’s character is “the ultimate chameleon,†while L is just a “tough but charming†ex–Navy SEAL. [HR]

Sweet Tooth: Because Hollywood will not rest until every one of your childhood toys has been adapted for the screen, Candyland is becoming a movie, courtesy of writer Etan Cohen and director Kevin Lima. Eventually, even that plastic placemat you had that was filled with facts about the galaxy will be optioned. [Variety]

Plouffe Books It: David Plouffe, Obama’s campaign manager, has landed a book deal with Viking for The Audacity to Win: The Inside Story and Lessons of Barack Obama’s Historic Victory, in the range of $1.5-$2 million. Viking President Clara Ferraro was partially motivated to nab the book by the e-mails she’d received from Plouffe during the campaign, saying they were “very motivating and sincere.†[Variety]

Gruesome Gacy: Svetozar Ristovski will direct and William Forsythe will star as the titular serial killer in the upcoming Dear. Mr Gacy. The movie will be based on The Last Victim, Jason Moss’s memoir of his obsession, correspondence, and even near-death experience at the hands of the imprisoned John Wayne Gacy. [HR]
