That new HD flat-screen television you just bought? It’s completely worthless! Hollywood (or at least Jeffrey Katzenberg) is convinced consumers will soon upgrade their TVs to ones capable of displaying pictures in three dimensions. Katzenberg espoused the virtues of in-home 3-D at a tech conference over the weekend and said the new TVs, which will begin shipping early next year, will initially require special glasses for viewing, but “in a handful of years,†newer, better 3-D TVs will be viewable with the naked eye (so you’ll have to buy a second 3-D TV later).
