Was Justin Timberlake Really the Season’s Best SNL Host?

So says Academy of TV Arts & Sciences! Thanks mostly to category-expanding rule changes, there are all sorts of wacky things wrong with this morning’s Emmy nominations, including, most controversially, Family Guy’s recognition for Outstanding Comedy Series — the first time an animated show has been in that category since The Flintstones in 1961. But since that nod probably bumped out Two and a Half Men (which has been inexplicably nominated for the past three years), we’re pretty much cool with it. The thing we’re most baffled about today is Justin Timberlake’s nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor for his hosting gig on the May 9 episode of Saturday Night Live. We’ll admit, we’ve never really loved JT’s comedy, and the “Motherlover†video was okay, but here’s an alphabetical list of this season’s SNL hosts we think would’ve been way more deserving of an Emmy: Alec Baldwin, Josh Brolin, Zac Efron, Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Anne Hathaway, Neil Patrick Harris, Steve Martin, Tracy Morgan, and Paul Rudd.
