Garth Brooks — the best-selling recording artist of the nineties — has apparently been lured out of retirement by the deep-pocketed casino mogul Steve Wynn. Although official details won’t be available until 4 p.m. this afternoon, it is widely believed that Brooks will be performing an extended run at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas for what we can only assume will be a payday of 14 billion dollars. While this is good news for country-music fans, we here at Vulture have all of our fingers and toes crossed that Chris Gaines doesn’t decide to follow in Brooks’s footsteps. [CMT]
