The commercial (but not, for the most part, critical) failures of Aaron Sorkin’s two shows that took place behind the scenes of TV shows (Sports Night and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) have left the West Wing creator undaunted. He tells TV Guide that when he’s done with his current screenwriting gig (that movie about Facebook) he’s planning another backstage show as part of a trilogy of sorts:
“It’s going to be what turns out to be the third in the trilogy of TV shows that take place behind the scenes of a TV show, but this will be a different kind of TV show. That’s all I can let out of the bag right now.â€
Well, write what you know, we guess, but the TV audience is probably clamoring for another Sorkin political drama. Or even something totally different from the inventor of the “walk and talk.â€
