Moneyball Lives

After falling apart days before its scheduled production, Moneyball is back on its feet: First Aaron Sorkin was hired to redo Steve Zaillan’s script, and now Bennett Miller (Capote) has been selected to replace Steven Soderbergh in the director’s chair. Brad Pitt is still onboard to star, although the budget (originally around $60 million) will most likely be cut. (500) Days of Summer’s Marc Webb was also in the running for the directing gig, which means we can only wonder how his whimsical, out-of-order, indie-rock-fueled take on Michael Lewis’s book might’ve turned out.
