Directed by Michael Golbach, the film is about a high school student (Dennings) who moves to a small town in Canada and strikes up a romance with a teacher (Lucas). Cancer Scare: Showtime has ordered 13 episodes of the Laura Linney-starring series The Big C. The “C†stands for cancer in this show about a suburban mother who shakes up her life after getting diagnosed with “the big C.†This cancer thing is really taking off. [Variety]
Stereotypes: Adriana Barraza, who was last seen fighting demons in Drag Me to Hell, is in negotiations to join the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. All that is know about Barraza’s character is that she will be human. Talk about typecasting. [THR]
Daddy Issues: HBO has picked up the rights to Sins of My Father, a documentary about Pablo Escobar set to show at this year’s Sundance Festival. The movie tells Escobar’s story through the eyes of his son, who has distanced himself from his father since his death. It features tons of never before seen pictures and videos from the family’s archives and will soon become the favorite documentary of rappers all around the world. [THR]
