Art Imitates Life: Luke Wilson will star opposite Laura Dern in the HBO comedy pilot Enlightened. The show stars Dern as a self-destructive woman who has a spiritual awakening after a nervous breakdown. The awakening leaves her determined to live a more enlightened life. Wilson will play Levi, her ex-husband with a drug problem and a like 20 extra pounds that seems to all have gone to his face. [THR]
Sweet Life: Ashley Tisdale and her Blondie Girl Productions have signed a deal with reality TV company RelativityReal. The deal calls for Tisdale to create, develop and produce new series for broadcast and cable TV. RelativityReal also has a production deal with Wilmer Valderama too. Down for the Count: Stacy Keach and Catherine McCormack have been cast in Lights Out, an upcoming drama series. The show will focus on an aging former boxer named Lights (Holt McCallany) who struggles to support his wife (McCormack) and his young daughters now that his fighting days over. Keach will play the boxer’s father and former trainer who still runs a gym and advises his son to get into the TV pitchman game. [THR]
Dead Funny: Lucy Punch has been cast alongside Kate Hudson and Gael Garcia Bernal in Earthbound, a romantic comedy from Film Department. The film focuses on a woman (Hudson) who finds she has cancer right before falling for the guy of her dreams. Punch will play Hudson’s best friend and co-worker at an ad agency. It’s like Mad Men, only much, much worse! [THR]
Old People, Doin’ It: TV Land’s multicamera pilot Retired at 35 has locked down a cast that includes Johnathan McClain, former SNL-er Casey Wilson, former Bluth Jessica Walter and Chrtistine Ebersole. The show will follow a man (McClain) who leaves New York to live with his father (George Segal) in a Florida retirement home. And you know what happens in retirement homes. [THR ]
