About a year and a half ago Madonna made her directorial debut with Filth and Wisdom, a film that according to Rotten Tomatoes was, well, rotten. Don’t think that’s going to stop the material girl from trying again. Now she’s set to helm W.E., which will explore the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, which led the king to give up the throne to marry his lover. Vera Farmiga is likely to star as Simpson while Madonna, along with directing and writing the screenplay, will serve as her dialect coach. [Variety]
