As you probably figured it would be, the opening of Broadway’s Lips Together, Teeth Apart has been postponed for an undetermined length of time canceled following Megan Mullally’s unexpected departure this week. The Times’ Patrick Healy confirms Mike Fleming’s earlier report that Mullally tried to have co-star Patton Oswalt replaced after she became “concerned that he was having difficulty with his nuanced role, that of her unsophisticated, homophobic brother.†According to Healy, she suggested to director Joe Mantello the names of Broadway veterans she thought would make better unsophisticated homophobes.
