Scrooges at Disney Close Robert Zemeckis’s Digital Studio

Following the crappy box-office performance of last year’s A Christmas Carol, Disney announced today that it’s shuttering Robert Zemeckis’s ImageMovers Digital studio by the beginning of next year. The closure of IMD means the loss of 450 jobs, and that’s not the only bad news: This will in no way affect Zemeckis’s planned Yellow Submarine remake (Disney is seeking a new development deal with the director that would include that film). Even so, Bob Iger can probably expect visits from a trio of 3-D motion-captured ghosts tonight. [Company Town/LAT]
