Well, it’s about time. After about 30 years in development hell, Moneyball is finally going to get made. Columbia Pictures plans to have director Bennett Miller start shooting the adaptation of Michael Lewis’s baseball book in July, reports Mike Fleming at Deadline. Stars Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill have cleared their schedules, and the budget has been trimmed from about $60 million to $47 million. Most importantly, Major League Baseball has given the the studio its blessing, which means it will get to use actual team names and logos. Plus, everyone in the crew gets a free foam finger.
