David Byrne is suing Charlie Crist, the governor of Florida, for using the Talking Heads “Road to Nowhere†in an attack ad. Byrne, who has hired the same lawyer who got John McCain to fork over some cash after using a Jackson Browne song without permission, is asking for $1 million. Crist used “Road to Nowhere†to attack his Republican primary opponent, Marco Rubio. Rubio’s campaign also used a song without permission in one of its attack ads, the Steve Miller Band’s “Take the Money and Run.†Steve Miller, however, did not sue, clearly because his heart is full of the pompatous of love.
