Producer Scott Rudin has bought the rights to Stacy Schiff’s upcoming biography Cleopatra: A Life, and Rudin’s office confirmed to USA Today that the project “is being developed for and with [Angelina] Jolie.†At a promotional lunch in Manhattan this week, Schiff said that despite the public’s conception of Cleopatra as a stunner, “we have little idea of what she actually looked like.†Though when asked as a follow-up if Jolie would be a good fit for the part, Schiff played right into the popular Cleopatra mythos: “Physically, she’s the perfect look.†[USA Today]
