Paul Lee, officially the new ABC Entertainment boss, met the press in Beverly Hills this morning, less than two days after replacing Steve McPherson in the role. Not surprisingly, Lee — best known for developing teen faves such as Kyle XY, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and Pretty Little Liars for ABC Family — couldn’t offer many specifics about how he might change ABC, saying only that the network was an “iconic American storytelling brand†and that he thought Modern Family really ought to win the Emmy for Best Comedy later this month. So what else did we learn about Lee from his 45 minutes with reporters? Well, his wife is Irish, he helped develop the British version of The Office and, sadly, he has no interest in white tigers, nor does he hang out much with Fisher Stevens. In other words, our hunt for the next Ben Silverman continues.
