FX has ordered thirteen episodes of the comedy Wilfred. It’s about a guy (played by Elijah Wood) and his dog Wilfred — “part Australian Shepherd, part Russell Crowe on a bender†— played by Jason Gann as a man wearing a dog suit. The series is based on the Australian show of the same name, which also starred Gann as the pot-smoking hound. Wilfred’s singular canine habits extend beyond narcotics and Russell Crowe–impersonating — they also include being much larger than his hobbit-size owner.
