DreamWorks announced some new release dates on its 2011 schedule today (The Help is slated for August 12, the Fright Night remake for the following week, and the Hugh Jackman robot-boxing movie Real Steel has been moved up to October 7), and with one curious power play, Steven Spielberg just became his own toughest competition. The director’s equine drama War Horse was pushed from August to an awards-friendly slot on December 28 … which just so happens to be five days after the release of Spielberg’s motion-captured franchise-starter The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.
