They’ll all be working with U2 on new music! In a revealing new interview with Australian newspaper The Age, Bono shares some interesting details on three upcoming albums the band is plotting.
After that will be the previously discussed “club†album. It’ll feature RedOne, the man behind the boards for a good chunk of Lady Gaga’s hits, plus Will.I.Am and Euro-pop crossover David Guetta. Says Bono: “U2’s remixes in the 1990s were a real treasure.†(Were they? We’re seriously asking.) “We wanted to make a club sounding record. We have a pile of songs.†At the very least, it should be interesting.

And finally, and perhaps most dubiously: a full album based on the twenty songs Bono and the Edge wrote for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Bono again: “We haven’t convinced the rest of the band to do that yet. [Drummer] Larry [Mullen] definitely has a raised eyebrow.†Understandable: Reportedly, Larry always thought that, at least as far as Marvel heroes go, Mister Immortal was much more deserving of a musical than Spider-Man. Anyway, who’s suddenly excited for new U2 music?
