Given that the first episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead was a ratings smash, drawing over 5 million viewers, and that last night’s audience dipped just a bit to 4.7 million, this should come as no surprise: AMC has renewed the zombie series for a thirteen-episode second season. In the words of an executive, “I wish all programming decisions were no-brainers like this one.†(Rim shot!). Between the four remaining episodes of the show’s first season and the forthcoming thirteen, you can look forward to lots of zombie kills that will — somehow! — be grosser than this.
