Tim Allen’s return to TV comedy is a go, and he’ll be back at the network that launched his sitcom Home Improvement almost twenty years ago: ABC. After a fierce bidding war between ABC and CBS, the network just won the rights to Allen’s new sitcom, Man Up; it’s described as a multi-camera family comedy about a guy whose manhood is under siege in a world of women. Though Allen hasn’t yet signed on to star, ABC has committed to a put pilot for the retro-sounding series, which has at least one modern feather in its cap: It’s being scripted and executive produced by 30 Rock’s Jack Burditt. Might it be a perfect fit for the TGIF lineup ABC is rumored to be resurrecting? Allen himself would no doubt grunt his assent.
