Somewhere in the middle of last night’s swirling plotlines, the ladies of New Directions performed a mash-up of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer†(which we’ve heard too many times at house parties and karaoke bars ever to want to hear again) and the Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up†(which, despite its ubiquity as the official song of Windows 95, we still can’t get enough of). They are certainly not the first to be inspired by the Stones: see also Blondie, 2005’s Swedish Idol, and a certain “manualist.â€
Compare these versions and tell us: Who did it best?

The Folksmen
The fictional folk troupe from A Mighty Wind. But whatever. We'd buy the album.

Bon Jovi
What if Bon Jovi had never recorded "Livin' on a Prayer" and just stuck to this? What would the karaoke industry have done?
As Performed By
Blondie
Only Debbie Harry is sexy enough to handle that dress/leggings get-up.
As Performed By
"Manualist" Gerry Phillips
Where did he learn to do this?
As Performed By
2005's Swedish Idol Sebastian Karlsson
Just like Mick Jagger, but with more boyish charm. Same amount of bare midriff.

Every choir room ought to have a wind machine.
