The food-truck phenomenon so popular in our nation’s biggest cities has already spawned a reality show; now, if Warren Littlefield and some former King of the Hill writers get their way, mobile dining could serve as the backdrop for a network sitcom starring stand-up comic Al Madrigal (Gary Unmarried). Vulture hears that ABC, via Littlefield’s TV production company, is developing an untitled half-hour about a man who ends up taking over the family food-truck business. Hill vets Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May are creating the family sitcom as a star vehicle for Madrigal, whose own experiences dealing with his parents’ family business is expected to inform some of the comedy in the show. The ABC project is just in the script stages right now, but we’re hoping the producers will soon launch a Twitter feed to let us follow its progress.
