HBO Films has already optioned Sam Wasson’s forthcoming Bob Fosse biography, Bye, Bye Life: The Loves and Deaths of Bob Fosse, as a feature-length adaptation for the network, and now X-Men’s Bryan Singer is attached to direct. Stage-to-screen vets Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, the duo behind Hairspray and Chicago, are producing, but no writer is on board yet. The TV movie would focus on the actor-slash-dancer-slash-director’s colorful life — he choreographed Damn Yankees and directed Cabaret! — and include many of the man’s signature bowler hats. In Singer’s hands, however, Fosse’s life could take a decidedly more action-packed turn — jazz hands of death, maybe? [HR]
