The New York Times took a lengthy look today at The Book of Mormon, the new Broadway musical written by the South Park boys opening next month. It’s got a lot of fun details about how it came together and how they’re trying hard to avoid controversy. You can really tell how hard they’re trying to avoid that controversy! I don’t really believe for a second that these dudes love Mormons as much as they say in every single interview. Yeah, yeah, Mormons are such nice people, we really respect them, etc. etc. That’s why you like making fun of them ruthlessly whenever you can and are doing an entire musical about now hilariously naive they are. But I guess having Mormons picketing your show wouldn’t be good for business.
