House keeps chugging along, but Hugh Laurie is firming up his plans to appear on a much bigger screen. Deadline reports that Laurie will star in Mister Pip, Andrew Adamson’s adaptation of the 2006 Lloyd Jones novel short-listed for the Booker Prize. In it, Laurie will play a white teacher who bonds with children on the island of Bougainville by reading them Great Expectations. The promotional soft-drink tie-ins suggest themselves. [Deadline]
