Very good mixtape rapper Freddie Gibbs — best represented by his popular single, “National Anthem (Fuck the World)†— has landed a major-label deal, via Young Jeezy’s Island Def Jam imprint, CTE. Jeezy himself came out at a Gibbs show in Chicago to announce the signing, with a hella dramatic chaining ceremony and everything. (Jeezy weed carriers Slick Pulla and Blood Raw are all like, “Oh, crap,†right now.) Anyway, congratulations, Freddie — you have just about entered the “when the hell is that dude putting out his official debut album†phase of your career. Say hi to J.
