Spike TV’s adolescent and underimaginative “Guys Choice Awards†has added a surprisingly compelling element: a Fast Times at Ridgemont High cast reunion. Tragically, Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Jason Leigh won’t be part of the ceremony, but Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Robert Romanus, Brian Backer, Forest Whitaker, and director Amy Heckerling will be. In between handing out awards for “best girl on girl scene†and “holy grail of hot,†Robert De Niro will give the assembled cast members trophies to mark the film’s induction into “Guy Movie Hall of Fame.†So far, Ridgemont is the only member of said hall of fame to feature an abortion plotline.
